If you own your own home, you may be eligible to have the annual preventative maintenance completed at no cost. The NWT Housing Corporation’s CARE PM program provides annual preventative maintenance for boilers/furnaces, water systems, cleaning of water holding tanks, fire extinguisher and other items up to $3000. The loan is fully forgiven. You may apply for this assistance every year, helping to keep your home in good condition. You should make application for the program as soon as possible to ensure the work can be completed this summer/fall.
If your home requires more extensive repairs or modifications to address mobility or accessibility issues, the CARE program can also provide assistance which may be partially forgiven depending on the household income.
