Membership is now due of for the 2022 year at the YK Seniors Society. I am going to list some options on how to pay for your yearly membership. Membership fee is $15.00 for all that are 50 and older (full member) or $20.00 for all that are 19 to 49 (associate member)
1. e-transfer to ykseniorsociety@theedge.ca , in the message box tell me what it is for and your name and if you are paying for others theirs names also,
2. cash yes still accepting that.
3. credit card, but you have to come visit me so i can swipe your card.
What is happening or some not happening at the Baker Community Centre
Lawn Bowling is back on at the Field House for Seniors. Starting Tuesday Feb 15th at 2:00pm.
Line Dancing is back in Friday night at 7:30pm here at the Baker Centre. Cost $2.00 per person per each Friday night. No experience required. Just come out and have a good time, make some new friends.
Service Canada is putting together a Zoom event on Taxes, Canada Pension Plans and Old Age Security. Free Event. Let me know if you would like me to send you the link so that you can attend. I will also set this up here at the Baker to come watch. For Thursday Feb 24th at 11 am.
If you liked the paper flowers, we had last summer/fall or the snowflakes that we have in the main hall now, we will be having classes starting in the next while (Just working on the date now). The class will be held on Thursday afternoon’s at 2:30pm here at the Baker Centre. This will run over a couple weeks. The cost is going to be $2.00 per class, All the supplies will be supplied for you. I will have a sign-up sheet in my office come and let me know if you want to join. This will be starting later in March for Spring.
This Wednesday Feb 16th at 1:30, we are going to be offering a cooking class with Prem (max 10 people) cost will be $20.00 per person. Let me know by Monday if you would like to come. (ONKY 7 SPOTS LEFT) Menu is in the making. Will advise shortly
I will be emailing out information on Senior’s night at the Legion on Monday nights. They are having some fun things coming.
Please remember that when you are entering the centre that you must wear a mask and sign in and sanitize and show proof of vaccination at the door (This proof part is only if you are eating lunch on Fridays).
Please note that parking is in short supply these days with the construction of the new building. Please carpool, or park on 57th street when possible.
