EXCITING NEWS
Some of your favorite classes will be returning to the Yk Seniors’ Society at the Baker Community Centre in September
The following classes will have to be signed up for because there is limited space due to the new Covid requirements
1. YOGA with MOYRA will be back starting Monday Sept 14th at 10am. There is going to be spacing for 12 people. This will be based on a first come first serve basis. The class will be Monday and Wednesday at 10am class starts Monday Sept 14th and Ends Wednesday Oct 28th. The cost for the 13 classes will be $91.00 paid to Yk Seniors’ Society. There will be no class on Monday Oct 12 (Thanksgiving MOnday) You will be required to bring your own blanket this year, the rest of the equipment will be supplied for you
2. Seated Cardio and Strength (Tuesdays 10-11, option to arrive for 9:45 for social time) Dawn will be the instructor The cost of this class is $10 per class. Class is starting Tuesday Sept 15th
In this all-levels, 1-hour class you will experience a full-body workout that will get your heart pumping and help your lungs work more efficiently.
You will be led through short, clear exercise sequences that will be aerobic in nature as well as dynamic strength exercises using your own body weight or free-weights.
This class is great for those who need to minimize load-bearing, are suffering back-pain or experiencing injuries.
Increase your circulation, burn calories, build your core for stability, and walk away feeling invigorated and stronger!
3.Balance and Stretch (Thursdays 10-11, option to arrive for 9:45 for social time)
Dawn will be the instructor for class. The cost of this class is $10. per class. Class starts Thursday Sept 17th
You will experience a variety of exercises to challenge your bodies 3 systems of balance – sensory, inner-ear and vision.
Balance is crucial to helping us stay upright and stable while moving, reversing age-related loss of balance, faster recovery from injury, and more.
We will also stretch – targeting our major muscles and other important muscles key to our bodies function as we age.
Some exercises will be done standing with the optional support of a chair, others seated.

PLEASE REMEMBER ALL CLASSES ARE BASED ON 12 PERSON CLASSES AND ARE ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASES. DUE TO THE COVID RULES IN PLACE I WILL BE ATTACHING THE RULES THAT WILL BE ADHERED TO DURING YOUR TIME AT THE BAKER COMMUNITY CENTRE. ALSO NOTE THAT WE COULD CLOSE ON SHORT NOTICE IF THERE IS AN OUTBREAK IN YELLOWKNIFE
